DCP Coaching week will be useful for Crew who are at a complete loss on what their next career move will be as well as for those who have an idea but may not be 100% confident on whether they are on the right track. Traditional ways of defining work has a lot to do with money and status, we are going to challenge these conceptions of work and rather explore what brings us meaning and purpose in our work with an end result of ongoing work life happiness.

- Crew who are thinking about their transition out of yachting now or in the future
- Crew who are ready to leave the industry in the immediate future
- Crew who have made the leap to be shore based but are still seeking a career pathway that will be best suited to them.
When does it start?
Challenge Doors open on the 13th September, however you can gain early access to the private facebook group from 10th September.
How does the Challenge work?
Through carefully designed exercises we go through a process of discovering your passions and interests
By the end of the program you will:
- Realign yourself to what is important to you and understand your career potential
- Connect with your natural talents and strengths
- Identify potential obstacles which prevents you from pursuing your career dreams
- Reflect on parental and societal expectations
- Gain clarity on what YOU would like more of in your current or future career

1. What was your biggest takeaway?
Knowing that what I do and want to do in the future is truly the path I want to follow, and if I ever change my mind on that I would know what questions to ask myself to be able to figure out my new route.
2. Would you recommend a friend to do the challenge if so why?
100% I think its easy to remain in the industry but knowing what you want and having the guidance to uncover your true path is such an amazing feeling, it has given so much confidence and clarity.
3. Has your outlook on your Career changed in any way if so how?
Yes, I had an element of doubt, whether it is what I really want to do and it’s actually given my a little direction change but for the better. I could really think hard and pin point all my values and must haves in my career and I’m now able to act on those aspects.
1. What was your biggest takeaway?
My biggest takeaway from this challenge I think is that I've known for a very long time what I want from my life and what I value and what I am looking for in terms of my career. I can now focus on making those goals a priority and start working on steps to create that life that I've wanted for so long. I am also now coming to terms with the idea that a transient life/career is absolutely OK, and I don't need to settle down into one job in one place etc. The idea of that kind of freedom is liberating.
2. Would you recommend to a friend?
YES. It's that simple. I was talking about this challenge to a few of my friends and trying to put into words why it was so valuable; it was actually difficult to explain so I just stuck with "you have to just give it a go" the fact we started with some seemingly simple questions about childhood pleasures etc... and before we knew it, we all could nail down a path or goals for not only our dream jobs but dream lives. Priceless.
3. Has your outlook on your career changed in any way if so how?
Yes, it has helped me realise the career path I want to take even if people don’t always agree. I need to come up with a plan on how I can start implementing what I have learnt about myself and what I want in a career and not swaying on those must haves.
1. What was your biggest takeaway?
My biggest takeaway from this challenge is I definitely want to be a chef/ work in hospitality industry and know I can really focus myself on creating the life within the industry I have chosen that suits me and my needs and wants which I think is amazing.
2. Would you recommend to a friend?
100% would recommend to a friend it’s such an awesome course to uncover your true loves and passions and helps you to work out what your dream career path looks like and think it’s so amazing you look into your childhood pleasures
